New Faces, Transitions at the NSD

The needs of the work in the NSD have necessitated some staff changes. It is sad for us to say good-bye to Pastor Mark Jenneke and his wife Cindy. Pastor Jenneke has been serving God as the Ilsan English Church senior pastor and assistant youth director. On December 3, 2011, there was a special pastoral ordination service for pastor Jenneke. The West Central Korean Conference president Pastor Choi, Young Gyu came to officiate at the ceremony. The Jenneke family will return to South Africa.

Dr. Ha, Hong Pal will now serve as senior pastor of Ilsan English Church in addition to his duties as assistant to the president. Pastor Ha expressed his gratitude to the privilege of working as a senior church pastor since he spent many years at the university campus teaching theology students.

On December 15, 2011, the NSD executive committee appointed Dr. Kim Si Young to take Dr. Ha’s place as director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL), Pioneer Mission Movement (PMM) coordinator and Mission to North Korea. Pastor Kim, Si Young graduated from Sahmyook University with a major in Theology and got his D.Min at AIIAS. He began his ministry at the Middle West Korean Conference (MWKC) and was the MWKC Youth director, Pusan Adventist Hospital Chaplain, KUC Youth Director, 1000MM Director, and SDA Language Institute Director. Before Dr. Kim joined the NSD, he was the president of the Korean Publishing House.

We believe that God will continue to guide and bless the NSD family and our ministry.
