On November 20, 2025, the Nepal Section convened its Nepal Annual Council, reflecting on the past year and taking steps toward a new beginning. The meeting brought together the Northern Asia-Pacific Division(NSD) officers along with more than 20 leaders from the Nepal Section.

The Council opened with a farewell and welcoming session marking the leadership transition between the outgoing president, Umesh Kumar Pokharel, and the newly elected president, Pastor Kumar Adhikari. As a symbolic gesture of passing the torch, Pastor Umesh presented the Nepali national flag to Kang SoonGi, president of the NSD. Pastor Kang then handed the flag to Pastor Kumar Adhikari, entrusting him with the responsibility of continuing God’s mission in Nepal.
Three officers of the NSD expressed heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing Nepal Section leadership. They presented plaques of appreciation to Pastor Umesh Kumar Pokharel and Pastor Kim HaeSeong, Executive Secretary of the NS, in recognition of their dedicated service.

In addition, all Nepal Section workers and staff expressed their gratitude and farewell by presenting tokens of love to Pastor Umesh and his wife, Shanti Lata Pokharel. During the ceremony, Tom Pigon, ADRA Nepal Country Director, remarked that working alongside Pastor Pokharel had been a blessing in many ways and expressed sincere appreciation for the support and cooperation extended to ADRA Nepal throughout his tenure.

Pastor Umesh served as President of the Nepal Section for nearly 12 and a half years, faithfully leading the church in a challenging mission context. At the 2025 NSD Annual Council, he was elected as Associate Ministerial Secretary of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division.
The Nepal Section Annual Council concluded with the election of new departmental directors and Executive Committee (EXCOM) members, who will serve the church for the next three-year term.
