2013 NSD New Appointments

The work needs in the NSD have necessitated some staff changes. It is sad for us to say good-bye to Dr. Hong Pal Ha and his wife, Woi Sook. Pastor Ha has been serving God as Assistant to the President of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) and as the Ilsan English Church Senior Pastor since 2012. 

Dr. Ha has been serving God in the NSD as Director of Sabbath School/Personal Ministries (SS/PM), Acting Ministerial Secretary, Pioneer Missionary Movement (PMM) Coordinator, Leadership Training and Development Coordinator, and Director of Public Affairs and Religious Liberty (PARL). Dr. Ha is moving to Saniku Gakuin College in Japan as a Theology professor and Mrs. Ha as a Nursing Department professor. Mrs. Nan Hee Kim will take Mrs. Ha’s place in the NSD.

Dr. Min Ho Joo, PhD(Picture on the Left), is to take Dr. Ha’s place as Assistant to the NSD President for General Affairs, effective March 1, 2013. His job responsibilities will include Coordinator of the Retention Program, Leadership Training, and Deaf Ministries.

Dr. Joo’s ministerial career began as a local church pastor, followed by the appointment as the Associate Director of SS/PM of the Korean Union Conference (KUC), and Director of the 1000 Missionary Movement (1000MM). Before he joined the NSD he had been serving God as a Business Manager in charge of training church pastors at the KUC Adventist Training Center. Dr. Joo holds a PhD in Missiology from the Adventist International Institute of Advanced Studies (AIIAS).

Pastor Seon Man Kim who has been serving as an Assistant Director for the PMM Department, Mission to North Korea, is leaving the NSD to study at Andrews University, USA. Pastor Younil Choi(Picture on the right) will take Pastor Kim’s position. Pastor Choi has been working as a pastor and a chaplain for 16 years. He has two doctorate degrees; one in Public Health (Dr.PH) and the other in Missiology (D.Miss).
