Mission
First! for NSD staff If, as Ellen White writes, the essence of the gospel is restoration, then the essence of Mission Day is to share the hope of that restoration with others. To prepare the staff of the Northern Asia-Pacific Division for this task Pastor Kwon JohngHaeng coordinated a variety of speakers and activities for April 16, 2008.
The day was filled with worship, praise and prayer as well as encouragement. In the morning Pastor Kim Dae Sung, Sabbath School and Personal Ministries director of NSD, trained staff in 1752 Evangelism. He highlighted the necessity of prayer as the foundation of all our witnessing efforts. The philosophy behind 1752 Evangelism is simple. Pray for one non-Adventist for seven consecutive days and then send them a sharing booklet. Repeat this process every week of the year. So, over the course of 1 year, 52 people have been touched by the Three Angels messages.
Pastor Tommy Tromp, chaplain of the SDA Language Schools shared with participants how witnessing the love of Christ in action changed his life and how the life of a Christian is by default that of a missionary.
The morning activities ended with a delicious lunch shared with friends and neighbors in the community. A former fisherman and a volunteer at a leprosarium shared their phenomenal testimony in the afternoon before office staff and guests went into the streets of Ilsan to distribute magazines and tracts. A blessed day was shared by all and we trust that the Lords word will not return unto Him empty.
