Philippines: NSD-SSD Joint Board Approves New Moves For 1000 Missionary Movement

The 1000 Missionary Movement board meeting was recently held in the nature-walled campus of the 1000 MM in the Philippines on March 4, 2008.

Union presidents and selected division officers and church leaders from two territories, the Northern Asia-Pacific Division and the Southern Asia-Pacific Division. The following members were present: Joo Min Ho, 1000 MM director; Hong Myung Kwan, Korean Union Conference president; Masaki Shoji, Japan Union Conference president and his colleague Masao Yanaga, Han Suk Hee, NSD communication director; Shin Dong Hee, NSD youth director; Jairyong Lee, NSD president, Albert Gulfan, SSD president, Agapito Catane Jr, Central Philippine Union Conference president; Wendell Serrano, South Philippine Union Conference president; Robin Saban, Adventist University of the Philippines president; Jobbie Yabut, SSD youth director; Stephen Guptill, AIIAS president; Abner S. Roque, North Philippine Union Mission president; Sardis Delgado and Adriel Gavenia, Treasurer and General Manager of 1000MM respectively.

Said important event to happen in the annual planning and assessment of the Movement's operations invited noted church leaders and officers such as Miguel Luna, NSD Ministerial Secretary, Akeri Suzuki, NSD Secretary, Clyde Iverson, NSD Treasurer, Keith Heinrich SSD Treasurer.

One of the major moves that have been acted upon was in requesting KUC to assign Kim Choong Kuk to serve as Branch Director for the India Branch Training Center at Spicer Memorial College in India effective March 1, 2008. Kim Choong Kuk will be serving for a term of 5 years.

Another remarkable minute that was tackled and approved for the affectivity of the missionary training was the plan to invite Pastor Petras Bahadur on August 11-16, 2008. Pastor Bahadur works for the South England Conference and will be listed as a resource person for the Moslem Ministry Program of 1000 MM.

Highlighting the board meeting was the members' special visits to three selected mission fields where 1000 MM missionaries are presently serving. The visitors' trip provided great blessings and inspiration to the currently serving volunteers upon their encounters.
