Mongolia: 450 Participated in 2007 Camp Meeting - The Path of life with Jesus

September 10, 2007 Erdenet, Mongolia

Mongolia Mission Field (MMF) experienced another Camp meeting from August 22-26, 2007. This event shows that indeed the Adventist church in Mongolia is growing, especially among the young people. Coming to the Camp Meeting at Erdenet town was a great opportunity to reaffirm their call to continue being faithful disciples of Jesus. Pastor Miguel Luna, Secretary of Ministerial Association of Northern Asia-Pacific Division (NSD) invited those 450 believers who attended the meetings to accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. There was a unanimous commitment to accept the challenges of a Christian discipleship.

Through the main theme “the Path of Life,” elder Luna shared the gospel that includes Jesus Christ invitation to follow Him, the experience of forgiveness through the “Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the World.” The Path series included an invitation for a new birth through the manifestation of the Holy Spirit, and an invitation to accept Jesus Christ sacrifice for the forgiveness of our sins. Appeal was made to live a life of obedience and love.

Every day program was a beautiful experience of fellowship, friendship, praising and meditation in God’s word. Children also had the opportunity to receive spiritual lessons through a puppets show conducted by the MMF children ministry department. Participants enjoyed a series of seminars such as Pre-marriage seminar, successful dating, happy families and children’s programs. As part of the program, young people also enjoy time for recreation and sports at the Selengge Camp facilities.

Besides the spiritual revival, two important events happened during the Camp meeting. The first one was the ordination ceremony for a new pastor Dovchinsuren Nyamdavaa. He and his wife Jantsan Enkhnaran and two children experienced a well organized ordination program that inspired those who attended the Camp meeting. Pastors Bold Batsukh, Paul Kotanko, Elbert Kuhn from MMF, Joshua Shin, and Miguel Luna from NSD participated in the ordination ceremony. During the service all MMF missionaries came forward and witnessed Nyamdavaa’s ordination. In words of church members, this ceremony touched their hearts and inspired young people to hold the pastoral ministry in the future.

On Sabbath evening a number of singers and music groups performed a beautiful concert with original music with a Mongolian flavor. It was a great music concert that shows the very good development of voices, melody and harmony. Composers like Altan Zaviah, the Sonor Group, Immanuel group and Golden Angels were very well appreciated by the audience.

A second important event was on Sunday August 26, when 36 persons were baptized and joined the Adventist Church. This was a great occasion for celebration and commitment. It was also a great opportunity to see the joy of salvation and the belonging to a community of believers of the same hope.
