Hong Kong: Adventist Health-Care Association Elected New Officers
June 11, 2007, Clear Water Bay, Hong KongThis was the first Presidents’ Council since the amendment of the bylaws of AHCA in 2006. The participants spent two hours reviewing the background and history of AHCA and expressed their continuous support and reaffirmation of its philosophy and objectives. This year was also the election year. After voting among the members, Mr. Frank Yeung, the president and CEO of Hong Kong Adventist Hospital and Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital was elected as the new President of AHCA; Dr. Park Chong Ki, the president of Eden Adventist Hospital in Korea was elected Secretary-Treasurer.
This year Presidents’ Council was temporarily chaired by Pastor Stanley Ng, Assistant to the President of Northern Asia-Pacific Division who also was assigned AHCA Advisor and Liaison person between AHCA and NSD Administration. The Council also voted to have next year Presidents’ Council in Taiwan.
AHCA is an organization joining all the Adventist health-care institutions and those that subscribe to its philosophy within the Northern Asia-Pacific Division. The purpose of AHCA is to provide coordination, expertise, services, advice and networking. AHCA is a health-care service organization which is directly responsible to, and an integral part of NSD. The purpose of AHCA is to strengthen the health & health-care ministries of the Church by:
Serving the affiliated health & healthcare institutions
Providing consultant services (may include accreditation services);
Organizing continuing education programs;
Developing marketing strategies and master planning;
Meeting for spiritual fellowship and prayer.
