Koza Church Revival Meeting

March 9 2010, Okinawa, Japan

The Lay Congress that was held by NSD last November touched the hearts of all those present. After the session, we were receiving questions from all over whether this kind of meeting can be held in their country or area. Pastor Kim DaeSung, Lay Congress coordinator, and Pastor Kwon JohngHaeng, Adventist Missions Director at NSD, discussed of carrying out such sessions by district with the support of Sabbath School/Personal Ministries Department and Office of Adventist Mission.

It was then when Pastor Fukui Teru of Koza Church in Okinawa, Japan turned in a request. Pastor Kwon JohngHaeng accepted the request and held a revival meeting from Feb. 19(Fri) to 21(Sun).Pastor Kim DaeSung was not able to join because he had moved to the position of KUC president. On Friday evening the meeting went from 7 to 9, on Sabbath 10:50 to 12:30 in the morning, 1:30 to 5:30 in the afternoon, and 6:30 to 9 in the evening, and on Sundy from 10 AM to 3 PM. The dedication worship concluding the session was led by Pastor Ebihara Yukio, the president of Okinawa Conference.

The session focused on the identity of the church as God's remnant people and on the life of prayer. Identification of the remnant people, their mission, and the power they will receive from the Holy Spirit through prayer were the themes that were dealt with. 80 church members and their pastor said they look forward to such revival meeting being held in their area anytime.
