Clap Participants Do Outreach For Children

March 8 2009, Silang, Philippins

A group of 200 enthusiastic adults and children from the surrounding community in Silang, Cavite gathered on Sabbath, February 20, at the 1000 Missionary Movement Gymnasium.  These were poor families who came for an afternoon of songs and a story with the promise of some gifts of food provided by the CLAP group from the Northern Asia-Pacific Division.  In Filipino fashion, the bags of rice, noodles and food staples were passed around by the missionaries who were in training at the Center and the CLAP participants.  Although 150 children were officially registered, more showed up and they enjoyed the snacks that were shared after the program.

As a part of every session of the Communication & Leadership Advancement Program, an outreach is planned for the community.  Last June, books and food were distributed to a village in Bacolod City.
