Korean Publishing House Celebrates Centennial December 2, 2009, Seoul, South KoreaKorean Publishing House held Centennial Anniversary Celebration of publishing ministries in Korea in attendance with about 500 guests including staff, colporteurs, and long time subscribers at Seoul Adventist Hospital church on October 29, 2009. Especially, about 70 delegates including Dr. Pardon Mwansa, GC Vice President, Dr. Matthew Bediako, GC Executive Secretary, and Pastor Laymond Dabrowski, GC Communication Director as well as other officials and directors from NSD territories attended the event. Pastor KyuChul Shin, KPH President in his celebrating remarks said “KPH is taking important role as a mission institute having its own tradition and history and we will go forward more and more”. He also mentioned that KPH is providing printed materials to Tanzania, Zambia, South Africa, Singapore, and Sri Lanka for mission work. Dr. Jairyong Lee, NSD President in his congratulatory message, said “it is obviously important mission work to convey everlasting gospel to people through publications. KPH has greatly contributed to development of Korean Adventist Church and its soul-winning work for last 100 years and we hope that it will be continued until Jesus comes”. Dr. Bediako, GC Secretary, gave thank to KPH for its successful service not only in Korea but also in many other countries in the world on behalf of Dr. Jan Paulsen, GC President. On the other hand, Review and Herald headquarter office presented a special plaque of appreciation to KPH which publishes and distribute Adventist World magazine. KPH will establish an organic cooperating system with sister publishing houses in the world and constantly promote fallen leaves project which provides free publications to Third World. In addition, International Symposium on publishing ministry under theme of Reflecting upon the 100 Years of Korean Publishing House was held on the same day. Dr. Bill Knott, Adventist Review Executive Publisher, Dr. DaeGeuk Nam, former Sahmyook University President and other speakers illuminated historical contribution of KPH on Korean society and Adventist church. Nowadays, KPH is equipped with high-tech publishing system and modernized production facilities and about 70 staff are working hard for development of publishing ministries. It also produces various types of publications such as electronic books and audio book combined with IT technology.
