AHCA Presidents Council Elects New Officers November 12, 2009, Taipei, TaiwanThe Adventist HealthCare Association hosted its 2009 AHCA Presidents Council at the Miramar Garden Hotel in Taipei, Taiwan from November 9-13, 2009. This year, the Taiwan Adventist Hospital acted as host and made arrangements for the meeting place, accommodation and food. AHCA is the umbrella organization over all the Adventist health-care institutions within the Northern Asia-Pacific Division. The purpose of AHCA is to provide coordination, expertise, services, advice and networking amongst hospital administrators. The guest speaker at this years’ Council, Mr. Albert Deininger, is Vice President for Development and Construction at White Memorial Hospital, LA, USA. The two-day seminar focused on hospital construction administration, strategic planning, master site planning, schematic design, project management and budgeting. In the afternoons, all participants took a tour of two well-known hospitals, to see their facilities and meet with their administration. During the business session, the Presidents Council elected two new officers for 2010-2011. The new AHCA President is Dr. Huang Hui-ting, president of Taiwan Adventist Hospital; and the new secretary-treasurer is Dr. Kenji Yamagata, president of Kobe Adventist Hospital. They replace the current president, Mr. Frank Yeung, president of Hong Kong and Tsuen Wan Adventist Hospital, and secretary-treasurer, Dr. John Park, president of Eden Adventist Hospital. AHCA thanks both men for their dedication over the past two years. Pastor Stanley Ng, representing NSD continues to serve as Advisor to the AHCA. On the afternoon of November 12 after two days intensive program, all participants enjoyed a relaxing tour around the Taipei Palace Museum. |
