"NEWSTART in Korean Congress Building"

Mrs. Lee, Young Ja, President of the Women’s Ministry Volunteer Aid Corps and the Korean Union Conference Adventist Women’s Association organized a lecture on incurable disease prevention and recovery.  The National Assembly’s Good Education Research Society under Representative Kim, Young Sook sponsored the public seminar on November 21, 2006 at the National Assembly in Yeouido. Dr. Lee, Sang Koo (internationally known as Dr. Sang Lee) presented the lectures.

It is difficult for religious organizations to present programs at the National Assembly but God opened the way for the Women’s Association. The ladies felt a burden to share the health message with members from all social standings. Members of the National Assembly make decisions that shape Korean laws. Many Middle and High School principles attended the lectures. It was an opportunity to learn that good nutrition based on the correct health laws has a considerable influence on mental and spiritual as well as physical development.

About 200 guests attended this conference and listened with great interest as Dr. Lee explained the relationship between good nutrition and health. Even though he spoke 30 minutes longer than anticipated, the level of interest did not die. “Real freedom is not doing one’s own free will but getting a life. Our way of thinking, our mind and attitude toward eating and our response to meaning as wisdom from God is real well-being. It is not just a knowledge of which genes control our appetite. If we follow the principles of real well-being, then suicide and divorce will decrease and health will increase and we will have a meaningful life.

After the lecture the guests were invited to enjoy a delicious vegetarian buffet. The ladies had prepared more than 26 vegetable dishes. The buffet, set out in the lobby on the first floor aroused attendants' curiosity. After tasting the delicacies, the attendants commented on the beauty, purity and variety of vegetable dishes. The seminar turned out to be a smash hit and people asked a barrage of questions and wanted contact information.
