Morning and Evening Evangelistic Meetings Fill People with the Good News in Seto
Two times a day! Morning and Evening worship programs on September 11-17 were provided for more than thirsty souls in Seto, which is located 20 km east of Nagoya City, Japan. The one week evangelistic series which were organized by the PMM (Pioneer Mission Movement) missionary Song, Eul Sub, began at Mr. Hutatsuki’s house, bringing 5 new souls in the presence of God on September 11. Morning programs attracted people who are not willing to come to church but feel easy to get together at neighbor’s homes.

The NSD (Northern Asia-Pacific Division) PMM Coordinator Kwon JohngHaeng presented his sermons and the Japan Union Conference PMM coordinator Tadaomi Shinmyo translated them in Japanese for the participants. The NSD gospel singers, Golden Angels, drew people’s attention into the evangelistic pot. This time, the eight of Golden Angels members were divided into two groups of four to support the evangelistic meetings at different places. One of the two groups supported the Seto meetings visiting place to place to attract people to the gospel.
According to the Seto Church PMM Pastor Song Eul Sup, the theme song of a Korean drama famous in Japan, ‘Huyunno Sonata, Winter Sonata’ sung by Shin Jae Churl, one of the four members who supported the Seto meetings, gave a big impression to students in a Catholic high school nearby the Seto church. The four students among 36 participants of the Golden Angels’ concert at the school attended the Seto Church on the Sabbath, September 17.
On the second day, 38 people attended the meeting, making a melting pot for a diverse group of people. Two American Mormon missionaries who Pastor Kwon and the Golden Angels invited at a ceramic festival came to the Seto Church with a Japanese young boy. Among the participants, some people were originally from Tanzania, Argentina, Peru, Brazil, and China.

“I can feel that the Holy Spirit has been with the meetings from mornings to late evenings. Those people who were seeking fro the Word of God and the Golden Angels’ dedication were beautiful. The special love of Pastor Song’s family for the Japanese is so moving. It is impressive that even after Pastor Mizuno retired he and his wife have been serving the church actively caring for the new souls,” said Pastor Kwon.
The Seto Church was constructed 11 years ago. It has been almost empty till the early this year because of some difficult situation. The PMM Pastor Song, Eul Sub and his family moved to the church after one year language training. The Lord’s blessings to the Seto Church resulted in the four soul baptism in June this year. Praise the Lord for His working through the Pastor Song’s dedication and love for the people there as well as his fluently speaking in Japanese!
